About the North Texas Renewable Energy Group
The North Texas Renewable Energy Group ("NTREG") is the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Solar Energy Society. NTREG is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with a Federal Tax identification number of 82-0824760.
NTREG was established in 2001 with the primary goal of educating North Texans about the power of renewable energy ("RE").
Whether you're experienced in renewable energy or so new to "RE" you don't know what to ask, the North Texas Renewable Energy Group is for you! Would you like to learn more about energy conservation, energy efficiency, solar electricity, solar hot water, and related topics? You're welcome to participate in our conversation group and attend our meetings!
NTREG members come quite literally from all walks of life. You need not be an engineer or the proverbial rocket scientist to be an active and productive participant with us.
We participate annually in a variety of events such as various Earth Days and others. We often staff a booth where we answer questions, provide information pamphlets, and demonstrate renewable energy equipment to the interested public.
We also frequently provide solar electric power equipment at various events to power their sound stages and other electrical needs. Our goal is to help educate people in solar energy and energy-related topics. What better way to teach about solar energy than by letting the public see it in action?
The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is an all-volunteer organization. We encourage our members to take part in and become members of the Texas Solar Energy Society and the American Solar Energy Society.
We meet on the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Our meetings are held in combination with the North Texas Electric Auto Association. Our meetings cover not only renewable energy and energy efficiency, but electric vehicles and related forms of transportation.
Visit our Events page for meeting details, location, and maps.
The Mission of North Texas Renewable Energy Group is to further the development of renewable energy, sciences and technologies with concern for the ecological, social and economic fabric of our community and state. NTREG promotes renewable energy through the exchange of ideas and information at meetings, discussion group and public and private events.
Additional areas of interest include electric cars and alternative transportation, biodiesel, as well as all aspects of energy conservation, both residential and commercial. If it pertains to energy, sustainability, or anything related .. we're probably discussing it.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. We meet in the Fellowship Hall of the Midway Hills Christian Church, 11001 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas. Check our Events page for meeting topics and maps.
You are welcome to join our online discussion group. You need not be a NTREG member to participate in our discussion group, or even know anything about renewable energy. Please note: Participation in the NTREG discussion group does not convey membership in NTREG.
Membership in NTREG, as well as participation in our discussion group, are open to all. Beginners and newcomers are welcome!
