VPP Program

Are any of you familiar with this new VPP program? Is it legitimate?  Can it work even if you're signed up for a NEM program through another electricity provider?

I know sol-ark is working on VPP programs so yes the concept is legitimate. I recommend looking into who the program administrator is for ERCOTS program and seeing the exact incentive value. note that you need to have a battery system to participate. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to still have a NEM agreement, however for VPP programs you are probably signing up for discharging your battery during peak hours 2 to 7 and precharging before that.

I expect that your VPP program provider is your REP and thus where your NEM agreement is contracted.  Be good to know how the NEM and VPP terms and conditions coexist…

If they are depleting your battery in the 2-7 time range does this not negate using your battery for backup in power gailuers at night?

If your inverter has the ability to charge from the grid you could theoretically grid-charge your battery at 8 pm for example and then have backup power for the night. Depending on how much you charge you could lose out on the solar to bat energy from about 8 am to 2 pm.
