Mark,
Interesting read. Hope it can lead somewhere and get this rolling. There will be a lot of available distributed energy going forward and simply stupid not to use it in a proper way. People should also get a reasonable good compensation for the energy they provide.

It was criminal that the Smart Meter system wasn't used to balance the load during the winter storm of 21'. One of the MAIN selling points (to the utilities) of installing all those meters was to phase out meter readers and having to roll a truck when a house/load must be disconnected from the grid. Why wasn't a rotating house-by-house 4hr on/off software algorithm available? Hundreds of lives lost and billions of dollars of damages could have been avoided. But what to our leaders do? They are all in on crypto... https://web3isgoinggreat.com/

Jack, Excellent and incisive comments and question. Has anyone at ERCOT or PUC answered that question? Mark

The rules and policies need to also be updated to allow all market assets to participate optimally in the market meaning buying and selling between any parties to secure a consistently reliable grid. Michael

If I’m not mistaken literally all of those folks tucked tail and left… It’s a new crew who had no hands on so the usual lack of accountability in Texas power.
