Help with events

Robert Lagerblad

To all.
This is the start of a second year as an event coordinator at NTREG. The plan is to use the experience from last year and improve the events and the organization around them. This requires volunteers and not just the board members. Note that I have not been reelected yet and the below may be invalid if that does not happen. However, we need to start planning for this year’s early events.

  • We need to have a number of people signed up to volunteer. This is not a commitment, but rather a pool of people that are interested in helping and learning from the different events. We need to have the list to pick from, and hopefully there will be enough to cover each event even though several of you may not be available at some of them. The amount of people we need will vary from event to event.
    •  Please, send me an email and we’ll go from there.

  • I also need a few people to help organizing the events. This group will also brainstorm about new events of different type. You can of course volunteer at the events, but that is not a requirement for this group.
    • Same thing here, send me an email if this is something for you.

  • My idea is to participate in a number of events during the year, but also come up with our own events. Our events can include fun things for kids, young or old. There is no age limit for fun. We do have our regular meetings, and this would be in addition to them. Currently we do not have a specific place to be and that may be a challenge.
    • We have previously had a session with building a solar lunch box, a box to connect a solar panel to and charge the battery. The battery can then be used to drive a light or something else. Other items that are related to the renewable energy sector is what the fun and learning sessions should be about.

  • Another challenge is how we finance our events and fun things, and thus we need sponsors.
    • I would welcome people that know the business to contact me, so that we can get help with this as well.

Whether or not you have the possibility to participate in the above, it is OK to contact friends and others that are interested and have time to help promote clean and renewable energy. Non-members are welcome and they may become new members down the road.
Upcoming events we have on the radar now.

Thanks Robert.

Count on me to do organizational/logistics duties for 3 events listed.  I have a 10x10 canopy, tables, and chairs that I will make available.

Mellen
